Hunting Adeline takes a significantly heavier tone compared to its predecessor. While the first book explores dark themes through its stalker and non-consensual elements, the sequel delves deeper into the darkness as Adeline is kidnapped by The Society, a human trafficking ring. The narrative picks up immediately where the first book left off, thrusting readers into an agonizing journey as Adeline endures trauma and abuse at the hands of her captors. Full transparency, Addie is not rescued, nor does she escape right away, so be prepared. The first half of the book is extremely challenging to read, depicting Adeline's struggles to survive and maintain her sanity amidst unimaginable horrors. Simultaneously, Zade desperately searches for Adeline, determined to rescue her from captivity. The second half of the novel focuses on their quest for revenge against those responsible for Adeline's abduction, as well as her journey towards recovery. Amidst the darkness, the love between Adeline and Zade shines brightly. Despite Adeline's internal struggles and attempts to push him away, Zade remains steadfast in his devotion, demonstrating unconditional love and support. Their unwavering bond serves as a beacon of hope amidst the darkness, ultimately driving the narrative forward and providing a sense of redemption.
